Hettie and Cyril Goslett, residents of Blackwood for the last 9 years, recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with their friends at the Woodpecker and with their family a couple of days later.
Over and above enjoying the blessing of 65 happily married years this sprightly couple have sprouted 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. And the story doesn’t end there …. because the great-grandchildren are still coming fast and furious – little Mia arrived in November, and the tiniest of them all, little Hayley was born on 15th March ’17. Another one still expected to arrive in August later this year.
Hettie and Cyril have enjoyed good health and can often be seen around our gardens getting some exercise with their wheelies in tow. They still enjoy getting out and about, doing their own shopping, visiting family and above all interacting with the littlies in the family who they absolutely adore.
Cyril the ‘Croc’, and Hettie ‘ou vrou’, names they have given themselves, but lovingly used by the little ones when referring to their adored great grandparents. Cyril is always up for a good laugh and a tease and Hettie is always up to painstakingly knit or crochet anything and everything on request. In her own words – keep the patterns coming and I will make it for you! What a blessing!
They are truly enjoying living out their golden years at Starkwood Village and are very appreciative of the special friendships they have fostered over the years with everyone. Hettie recently also celebrated her 85th birthday in February with a ‘happy’ hour in the quad at Blackwood which was enjoyed by both immediate family and the very special people they call friends!
